OQO Blues

With my OQO away on repair I'm missing it. Now I realize I can't sell this thing. I miss not being able to do anything computer related anywhere I want. It is sad but I guess I will have to make due for now.

At Home With The OQO

A new gadget can warm a geeks heart. I received the OQO and am having loads of fun with it. I have done most of my catch-up blogging with it and have started using it for school so I shall provide my first impressions of my first ever UMPC.

The OQO sports a 5” screen, now I was initially worried about not having enough screen real estate but that is not an issue. I’ve been using the OQO in a couple classes to take notes down in and I find it perfect. Fan noise can be an issue at times in a dead silent classroom.

I was worried for a time about buying the OQO, then I thought about trying to sell it and buying a cheaper UMPC or MID. Though after some time to think about it, the OQO I bought was a grat price considering all the accessories I got, all for just over $1000. If I bought the Wibrain + a docking station, that would bring me back up to the $1000 range. I don't know how the pricing for the MID's are going to be but I'm not taking the chance.

I will be shipping this baby off on Monday to get these touch scrollers fixed so hopefully I will have it back in a month. In the mean time I will post more details on my use with the OQO.
